Halloween 2012

As I thought, Halloween this year was awesome! About 30 - 40 people at Martina's house and everyone dressed up. I was some kind of communist. A few pictures:

Nadja painted as a scary person and me as a commie, or Castro's wife. Linus's words, not mine.
(Picture: Martina Puranen)

Björn as Slenderman, Samuel as Chas in The Royal Tenenbaums and David as Raoul Duke in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. (Picture: Martina Puranen)

One Time Story decided to have a mini-gig in Martina's living room, success. And here we also have Linus as a ghostbuster, Jovva as a banana and Nick as Scooby! (Picture: Martina Puranen)

Some fans of One Time Story, hehe. Shortly after this picture was taken, there was a small moshpit and a lot of cheering and singing. (Picture: Nadja Strömvall)

Here we have Samin as Companion Cube and Robert as The Mask. (Picture: Natalie Bengtsson)

And here we have Björn again with his complete Slenderman costume. Super creepy guy. (Picture: Robert Elf)

I couldn't get at hold of that many photos since people forgot to take more pictures. I guess that means everyone had a good time at least!

How was your Halloween?

Global issue: hair.

I was eleven the first time I switched hair color. I tinted my hair to a dark brown color and it looked good for one month. But then my hair started shifting between olive green and light brown. Needless to say, I vowed to myself never to do such a think to my hair again.

However, in early 2010 I had resisted my cravings for red hair for too long so I did it. I said good bye to my natural light brown/dark blonde color, because I knew I wouldn't see it for long. Because I'm the kind of person who can't just try ONE color. If I'm not gonna keep my own color, I might as well try every color I've ever wanted. So here are some pictures of my crazy hair dyeing period.

2009: My natural hair color.

2009: Right, before dyeing my hair red, I tried this raccoon tail-thingy just for fun. Emo, I know.

2010: The reddest head. Sorry that I don't have a better picture on this computer. Btw, the thing in my nose is my hidden septum piercing I got the same year.

2010: In the progress of trying to beach my hair into white, my hair turned a pretty pink for two days and then orange/beige after I'd washed it.

2010: Finally white! I had to bleach it twice with the strongest hair bleach I could find (40 % peroxide, I dunno what I was thinking) and I also tinted my hair with a purple color made for bleached hair to look whiter. And used a lot of silver shampoo/conditioner. Sorry again for the bad pictures.

2011: Decided to cut my hair super short due to the damage all the bleach had done to my hair. Dyed my hair black/super dark brown simultaneously and Alice Glass became my new nickname.

2011-2012: Got myself some hair extensions when I got tired of having short hair. You can also glimpse a small strand of pink on the right side of my hair.

2012: And this is how I look right now. Planning on getting new extensions (those on the picture are super damaged) and a new color. Dunno which though!

Привет!

Zup. Just thought I'd pop in to write like nothing... avoid the tons of work I have to do. I can recommend you to watch a super sweet movie - "Martyrs". It's french, super scary and beautiful in every way. One of my absolute favorites. But whatever you do, don't watch it alone.

OK then, time for some russian, whoop.

F your treats

My friend Martina is always the one putting together Halloween parties each year, and I've known her since 2010, so this will be my third Halloween party at her place. It usually turns up like 20 people or more so it's always a blast. I've been thinking about the potential costumes for Halloween this year. I'm always super stoked and have like a billion ideas of what I wanna look like, but I NEVER have enough time or money to spend on the costume because I always end up trying to fix it/get it like the day before the party. But this year, I'm gonna be prepared as hell.

Last year I was some kind of zombie doll, but I just ended up looking like a scary injured girl.

Martina and Björn were both from characters from video games. Spectacular (photo by Natalie Bengtsson).

David, Maria and Natalie were killing it as the Flintstones plus their neighbor whatshername (photo by Martina Puranen).
Joakim and Linus as some kind of skeleton character who appears to be singing. Yay (photo by Martina Puranen)

Martina, Amanda as Nicki Minaj in the music video "Creep",  and another Natalie I know dressed up as a video game character I don't recognize (photo by Natalie Bengtsson).
Joakim and Samuel were members of Team Zissou from the brilliant movie The Life Aquatic. I'm being creepy in the background (photo by Natalie Bengtsson).

Yep, so those are a few photos of a few of the people who celebrated Halloween with me last year. Hope this one will be just as good or better!

The disastrous dinner.

Hey you, my only visitor of the day!

Got home an hour ago, empty apartment, boyfriend at rehearsal, boring. Decided to cook myself a super tasty meal, but the only edible stuff I found were some large fish sticks and rice. Are you supposed to cook fish sticks for a thousand minutes by the way? It took them ages to get done but they still seemed a little undercooked when I ate them. Anyway, it was disgusting, so I only ate one of the two and some rice.

Even my hand looks yummier

Wish I'd be as interested in cooking food as I am in baking, but I'm just not. I love eating food, of course, but I'm sure as hell no cook. Oh weeeell. Time to clean this messy apartment, hope your evening turns out better than mine, byyyee!

You had me at meat tornado.

Wow, the third post in two days, I'm amazed by myself!

Anyway, I mentioned in the previous post that I am a nerd when it comes to TV shows. So, I thought maybe I'd recommend a list of some of my favorites to you! They're not arranged in any specific order, but I'll write either a brief or super long comment about each. I'm afraid I can't post all of the best TV shows in the world in just one post, so I will make one now and continue to do more when I've got time. Here they come:

  • Parks and Recreation:  if you enjoy shows such as The Office (U.K or U.S), this is something you just HAVE to watch. The main character Leslie Knope is played by the amazing Amy Poehler. Leslie is an energetic, ambitious, annoyingly good hearted bureaucrat in the parks department of Pawnee, Indiana and we get to follow her and her brilliant co-workers in the parks department, all with various, interesting personalities. The show is filmed as a mockumentary. The first 2 or 3 episodes first seemed to me like a total ripoff of The Office, but it quickly won my heart over and I find the show unique and h-i-l-a-r-i-o-u-s. Some other actors starring the show are Aubrey Plaza (April Ludgate, the sarcastic, evil minded intern), Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson, only working for the government so he can slow it down, he's my idol), Rashida Jones (Leslies best friend who's always helpful, rational and some how one of the few "normal" characters, however, she's awesome and has her hilarious moments too). If there's  just one comedy show I'd tell you to watch, it's Parks and Recreation.

  • Californication:  The writer, player and father Hank Moody is one of those bad boys you'd like your present/future daughter to stay away from. However, what makes this character special, is that he is not portrayed as only that, but you get picture of him as a man who wants to do the right thing but is just lost and cocky enough to get himself in trouble each time he tries. An extremely well produced show with great actors as main character David Duchovny, Natascha McElhone and Evan Handler. If you wanna watch something with rock n' roll, L.A beaches, fantastic well-written drama and great characers, it's this. I thought I'd get tired by the fact that Hank Moody always screws up and never develops, but that's not the case, the show is too good and changes a lot actually. WATCH.

  • The Office US: The Office is originally British and I know many love the UK version better and hates the US. version, but I feel the other way. Could be because I began with watching the US version and when I tried to watch UK's, I just couldn't see the same charm. Anyway, the Office US is starring Steve Carrell, Rainn Wilson and many other amazing actors. Need I say more? It's a mockumentary about the staff working for the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company and their carriers there, but also their personal lives. If you like Parks and Recreation, you'll like this, and vice versa. Just watch it, OK?

  •  How I Met Your Mother: I've re-watched the whole show like 5 times, do you really need me to tell you more than that? No but seriously, Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders. Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) is telling his kids the story about how he met their mother from a early beginning to a veeery late end, and we, the audience, are watching his story as a show. What is unique about this sitcom is how advanced and well weaved the different episodes are linked together. And the actors, they really make the best of their characters, and anyone not agreeing with me hasn't watched the show enough. I agree that there has been one or two stiff momentums for all the actors, but it doesn't matter in my opinion. Because they work great together and the show is just one of those unique sitcoms you want more and more of and no one could do it like them.

Ok, those are my recommendations for today, they are all FABULOUS shows, so watch them all.
I'll recommend some more later this week.

Introduction.

I figure introductions usually are boring and unnecessary. But I'm also bored and unproductive so here I am:

  • I absolutely adore food, candy, beverages, combinations of these put in a mixer and then into my stomach, etc. I love consuming stuff through my mouth.

  • I wear hair extensions, because I could write a tragic novel about my own hair. Probably will.

  • I'd like to reincarnate as an extremely large or small animal, just for the experience. That, or a bird, preferably a vegan bird.

  • I hate snow. I really do. But I also occasionally like snow when it brings extra cosiness to cozy events/situations, like Christmas or drinking hot chocolate while reading a book.

  • I'm super duper nerdy when it comes to watching TV shows. Although I don't own a TV, so I download everything I watch.

  • I have never been outside of Europe.

  • I cry when I watch Animal Planet and hamsters die.

  • I get super annoyed when I watch movies about the maffia, simply because I almost never can keep up with the story or remember who's who among all the Tonys, Franks, Vincents, etc.

If you'd like to know anything else suuuuuper interesting like these things above, just ask.

Here not a disgusting photo at all of how amazing I am at baking:

Amazing and also beautiful gingerbread cookies by me.. mm-m.

Tada.
